Chaired Tenured Professorships
Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine
New York City, New York
The Center for Engineering and Precision Medicine (CEPM), a brand new partnership between the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS), seeks Constellation chaired professors in the area of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (TERM). Professors will enjoy tenured faculty status at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and will be based at the CEPM labs, 619 West 54th Street in New York City, with additional research space available at the Rensselaer campus, Troy, New York.
The CEPM is one of the first centers in the nation to bridge engineering with precision medicine and is built on a strong history of collaboration between Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Such collaborations have led to $70M in joint extramural funding since 2013 and provided shared educational research experiences across campuses.
Applications are sought from candidates who have current tenured professor status. Candidates should have a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, biological science or chemistry, or a related field, and have developed an internationally recognized interdisciplinary research program, attracted major external grant funding, contribute to graduate and undergraduate teaching, and demonstrate an ability to engage in departmental, institutional, and professional services as part of the Shirley Ann Jackson, Ph.D. Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies (CBIS) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The CBIS is known as powerhouse for fundamental and translation research tackling the most pressing healthcare and biotechnology challenges facing humanity.
