Fleet Service Mechanic I or II (Based on level of qualifications)
Fleet Service Mechanic I GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK: Advanced skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of automotive equipment and related construction equipment. Work is performed on all types of automotive equipment and on heavy equipment. Employees in this class perform mechanical work in the repair of trucks, cars, tractor mowers and a wide variety of other light automotive and construction equipment. Troubleshoots and repairs aerial devices. Works under general supervision of the Manager of Fleet Operations. TYPICAL TASKS: Performs repair and reconditioning of such automotive equipment as automobiles, trucks and other specialized gasoline/diesel and EV (electric) -powered equipment.
