The Artificial Heart and Cardiovascular Fluid Dynamics Labs at The Pennsylvania State University has multiple Postdoctoral Scholar positions open in the field of cardiovascular mechanics. Candidates who have a strong background in Biochemistry, Mathematics, and/or Mechanics (experimental and computational methods (use of OpenFOAM and/or COMSOL)) are welcome to apply. Experience in blood handling is a plus.
In each of the roles below, the individual will be expected to help guide graduate and undergraduate students in their research, participate in the preparation and submission of manuscripts and proposals, present results at scientific conferences, and prepare reports for funded projects. The positions are focused mostly on computational modeling. The research activities will include performing computations and some experiments related to stroke, thrombosis, adhesion, and cardiovascular fluid dynamics.
Each position requires a doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in a scientific discipline by time of appointment. The duration is for one year, renewal possible depending on availability of funds.
