Ruby is currently seeking a Financial Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities include:
Accounting operations of the Firm, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles
Collaborate directly with the CEO, principals, and other senior leaders to foster an environment of continued business growth
Partner with the CEO and other senior leaders on operational and strategic issues as they arise
Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections
Provide timely and meaningful financial analyses and reporting to leaders
Manage all essential financial functions including accounting, finance, budgeting, and taxes
Develop and promote a framework to drive financial accountability across the organization
Coordinate with external CPA firm on annual compilation/review, R&D credit study, tax returns and other matters
Oversee, monitor, and work to improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial literacy at the firm
Identify and communicate monthly variances against budget for earnings and cash
Prepare and distribute 1099, 1098, 1096 and other related tax forms
Reconcile general ledger and bank accounts weekly/monthly
Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required
Ensure confidentiality of organization’s proprietary/financial information
Work closely with Project Management to set up project accounting structure, evaluate work in process, financial project milestones, and overall financial project success
Actively participate in project reviews
Utilize effective listening skills to understand project requests and implement creative solutions to support project requests and identify and communicate problems in a diplomatic fashion to Management and Project Managers
Oversee business insurance and other elements of risk management
Maintain external relationships with banks, auditors, and third-party vendors
Calculate, transmit and review all funds and data pertaining to the company 401K, Pension and Profit Sharing Plans
Record deposits
Administer all aspects of payroll utilizing the payroll system, which includes computing and transmitting to payroll vendor
Make any required changes to employee information such as pay rates, salaries, withholdings, or regular deductions and post to Firm timekeeping system
Assist employees with payroll questions, concerns, or issues
Enter the payroll summary into the general ledger, monthly
Review payroll tax returns and other information both quarterly and annually
Requirements include:
Minimum of a B.S. or B.A. in finance, accounting, or related field
At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience
Understanding of financial reporting and compliance
CPA is a plus
Background in Excel modeling
Demonstrated knowledge of project-based accounting concepts
Experience with Deltek Ajera and/or Deltek Vantagepoint software a plus
