DEPARTMENT PROGRAM SUMMARY (Events, Education, Certification, and Workforce Development)
ACMA's Certified Composites Technician (CCT) program supports our member’s workforce development goals and facilitates uniform training and technical skills in the composites industry. The program's goals are to improve production performance, establish technical skill baselines, enhance knowledge and skill levels, advance the technical expertise of floor workers and managers, elevate industry standards of excellence.
POSITION SUMMARY
Leads the association’s Certified Composites Technician (CCT) program to provide top-notch industry education and assist members with workforce development while generating non-dues revenue for the association to allow for reinvestment in the program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops, directs and implements the overall strategy of the certification program. Including, but not limited to, the identification of needed certification manuals, program revisions, improvements, delivery and pricing of certification programs and tools that assist industry members in obtaining their certification.
Works to ensure that the certification program meets acceptable standards.
Reviews and assesses current CCT business model to ensure it meets market needs while providing revenue to support the program.
Collaborates with Director, Education Strategy on integrating program objectives, promotions delivery and administration into an overall association strategy to deliver effective and efficient content.
Develops yearly goals and develops and manages the budget accordingly.
Assess the potential for accreditation of the certification program and partnerships with aligned organizations
Manages and develops content and testing for certification program.
Manages all contractors (including writers, designers and printers) on all certification projects from beginning to end.
Recruits and manages content specific committees for the development of certification. Compiles and develops committee material into deliverable format.
Manages the online content delivery and testing platform, used for both certification and educational offerings.
Support, recruit and build instructor network.
Develops a business and sales plan and approach for increasing CCT certifications and trainings. Works closely with Director, Education Strategy and Director, Marketing to develop and implement marketing and sales plan for certification program, as well as communication items (website, newsletters, etc.).
Grows and maintains relationship with industry as well as university and technical school partnerships with CCT programs. Maintain focus on CCT sales, technical support and connecting with industry in geographic locations of schools.
Stays abreast of industry training and education needs, as well as professional development, adult learning, association certification and education trends.
Manages the overall administration of the certification programs.
Supervises, trains and mentors the CCT administrative support role.
Oversees the daily maintenance of the program by the administrative support staff, including communication to proctors, grading, and fulfillment of certificates, writing communication, sales follow up, database maintenance, and accounting.
Creates proposals, estimates, and invoices for custom training programs.
Collaborates with the Director, Customer Experience, DBA, PM on progress reporting dashboards for certification and sales of CCT products through the Education Hub.
Travel required for in-person, personalized trainings, industry meetings to help promote the CCT program, visits to schools and manufacturers as necessary (20% - 30% a year).
Promotes benefits of association membership to non-members participating in educational programs.
Participation in promotion and education opportunities such as webinars and/or podcasts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience in managing educational and /or certification programs and content.
Understanding of basic composites manufacturing and materials science.
Exercise independent judgment, leadership and decision making, as well as the ability to work independently with little supervision.
Entrepreneurial spirit.
Establish working relationships and interact effectively with a wide range of people.
Communicate and present ideas effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to interpret, analyze, organize and apply association policies, objectives, and operations requirements.
Familiarity with electronic communications/web sites.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, database and learning management software.

Education
College Degree and 5 years related experience in education, certification or association/member management role.
