The Board of Directors of Indiana Electric Cooperatives (IEC), headquartered in Indianapolis, IN seeks a member focused leader with proven strategic leadership and consensus building expertise, outstanding interpersonal communication skills and strong desire to positively influence and motivate others, to serve as our next CEO. Indiana Electric Cooperatives (IEC) is a statewide association that exists to support our 38-member rural electric cooperatives with the tools and resources they need to operate safely, efficiently, and legally throughout the state of Indiana. That means working toward favorable legislation, facilitating government relations, providing job and professional development training and safety instruction, making sure our members are compliant with regulations, creating opportunities for community outreach and always representing the best interests of our members.
Our strategic plan ensures we are always working to support our member electric cooperatives. This plan revolves around four key principles: unifying, leading, serving and advocating for our members. If any member is facing difficulties for any reason-anything from coping with a natural disaster to complying with complex new legislation-we help, making sure they have all the support to deal with it successfully. We provide our members with the support they need to power their communities. Reporting to the 38-member Board of Directors, the CEO is charged with enacting our strategic plan.
The Ideal Candidate

Member Focus: Focuses self and the organization on the needs of its members
Analytical Thinking and Decision Making: Thinks systematically, conceptually, and analytically to determine effective solutions that will enable the statewide to achieve desired goals
Integrity and Courage: Makes decisions and acts consistently with values, professional standards, and the broader interests of the organization
Experience and Expertise:
Bachelor’s Degree is required; an MBA or other advanced degree is highly recommended
At least 6 years of progressively responsible leadership experience is required
At least 6 years of utility experience is preferred
NRECA Management Internship Program (MIP) graduate is a plus
Education or Experience in Accounting & Finance, Law or Business is preferred
CEO experience preferred but not required
IEC is located in Indianapolis, IN, the state capital of Indiana and seat of Marion County.
