Communications & Marketing Graphics Specialist
The communications and marketing graphics specialist assists with the design and production of internal and external communication and marketing materials. In addition, this position supports the development and execution of communications and marketing plans in support of broader strategies that align with Platte River’s objectives.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodations, the essential functions of the job:
Design materials for print, web, digital signage and social media for Platte River and Efficiency Works
Assist with presentation development and/or review
Support marketing and communications activities as part of broader communication strategy
Communicate effectively with staff and all levels of management
Identify opportunities to continuously improve communication tools and content to enhance internal and external communication with individuals and groups
Work with third-party providers (e.g., website developers, print companies) as needed
Support the coordination of projects, meetings and other related events
Maintain regular and reliable attendance
Demonstrate safe work practices and comply with established safety procedures
Represent Platte River outside of normal business hours as required
Support needs of communicators from owner communities as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned
This position has no supervisory or lead role responsibilities.
Bi-weekly salary range for this position: $2,278 - $3,132 (placement DOQ)
(range if annualized: $59,232 - $81,432)

Knowledge, skills and abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to listen and respond effectively and influence others through communications
Demonstrated knowledge of branding principles and initiatives
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD and some experience in Premiere Pro preferred)
Knowledge of social media platforms, preferred experience in social media and digital marketing advertising
Experience with WordPress as well as understanding of principles relating to website design and an understanding of website development
Knowledge of and ability to edit and produce video and digital animations preferred
Excellent skills in organizing, prioritizing and planning work and an ability to effectively complete work assignments with competing demands
Ability to demonstrate a strong attention to detail and accuracy and to work with frequent interruptions
Ability to positively manage marketing and communication initiatives with professionalism, enthusiasm, flexibility and creativity
Ability to collaborate with team members across all Platte River departments and divisions to provide high quality customer service
Demonstrated skills as a ‘self-starter’, able to work with initiative
Ability to work independently and in teams to contribute positively and productively and to meet deadlines and service expectations
Able to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with internal and external customers
Ability to maintain reliability and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement

Knowledge of proper safety practices, procedures and regulations applicable to work being performed
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, English, communications, journalism, marketing, management or related field from an accredited college or university; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Two years of related work experience in graphic design, marketing or communications
Current and valid driver's license and ability to remain insurable under Platte River's vehicle liability policy
