To coach and facilitate process improvement efforts that benefit CM Group customers, employees, and the organization. The Continuous Improvement Consultant has a daily focus on fostering a mindset of ongoing improvement throughout the organization.
Collaborate with business unit subject matter experts to define business processes. Ensure that their relationship to processes in other functional areas is defined and understood.
Identify and develop improvements to business unit processes. Facilitate and assist in the execution of process improvement efforts within and across functional business units.
Complete SIPOC (supplier, inputs, process, outputs, customers) analysis for all business processes for business units.
Analyze data to find root causes of performance issues. Assess process design for gaps, nonvalue?added steps, and other barriers to efficient operation.
Summarize and report findings to CI leadership and business unit leadership.
Establish the use of visual management tools, such as dashboards and balanced score cards, for all functional areas. Work closely with functional areas to ensure regular usage.
Facilitate the execution of risk assessment approaches, such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, to understand and mitigate risks of transformational Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives within and across functions.
Work with functional area leaders to establish Control Plans for all process improvements and process owners for all processes.
Train employees at all levels in lean six sigma methods.
Assist business units in developing key metrics and targets for improvements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or years of experience is required.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification preferred.
Knowledge and hands?on application of process improvement and statistical and quality tools and frameworks, including VOC/CTQ, Lean, Six Sigma, and DMAIC.
Experience or strong interest in end?to?end process establishment and improvement.
Experience in Value Stream Mapping and Charter Development preferred.
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work and handle multiple assignments to meet deadlines or requirements.
Ability to gather and analyze information, identify goals, explore and select solutions, implement an action plan, and evaluate results.
High degree of attention to detail.
Ability to effectively listen to others, collaboratively share ideas, and communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization.
Ability to build effective relationships, identify customer needs/expectations, see issues from customer's point of view, and offer practical recommendations.
Ability and willingness to travel as necessary.
