The City of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin (pop. 43,151) is seeking a collaborative leader to be its next City Engineer. This position is open due to the recent promotion of the previous incumbent. Located at the foot of Lake Winnebago, Wisconsin's largest inland lake, Fond du Lac is renowned for its abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities, high quality of life, and low cost of living.
The Engineering Division of the Public Works Department is responsible for the preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, inspection of the storm and sanitary sewer systems, street improvements, bridge maintenance, sidewalk reconstruction, and other public works projects. The City Engineer oversees 11 employees, an annual operational budget of $1 million, and yearly capital projects of $8 – 10 million. The City Engineer reports to the Public Works Director and works with the City’s Advisory Parking and Traffic Board.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with 5-10 years civil engineering experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a supervisory role is highly recommended. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin, or ability to obtain within one year is also required.
The salary range for this position is $96,500 - $124,000. A competitive benefits package and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System are included.
