Other duties include:
Assist the State Aid Program Support Engineer/Disaster Coordinator in administering the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) and other traffic safety initiatives.
Serve as a technical resource and actively participate in the update of the Minnesota’s County Road Safety Plan (CRSP).
Serve as a technical resource as it relates to managing and administering of the Minnesota Crash Mapping Analysis Tool (MnCMAT2).
Assist with comprehensive disaster response and other duties as assigned

NOTE: This posting is being announced as two different job classes at the same time: Engineer Senior and Engineer 2 Graduate. The final classification will be dependent on the successful applicant’s qualifications.
Licensure as a professional civil engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
Engineer 2 Graduate:
A Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university AND two years post-graduation civil engineering work
A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university AND one year post-graduation civil engineering work.
Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
Required at both the Engineer Senior and Engineer 2 Graduate levels:
Ability to review technical information and arrive at solutions to problems as they arise.
Ability to observe, evaluate, and draw conclusions.
Ability to manage programs and projects.
Knowledge and application of business planning principals sufficient to develop and implement plans, programs and goals.
Technical writing skills sufficient to communicate highly technical information to a variety of audiences.
Ability to review technical information and recommend solutions to problems as they arise.
The ability to manage programs, projects, and multiple assignments with respect to deadlines.
Ability to identify and apply innovative approaches.
Ability to effectively communicate policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and objectives;
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers and peers;
Ability to lead and direct personnel engaged in office and field activities.
