Assistant Professor in Bioengineering (Translational Theranostics)

NTU's School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (SCBE) currently has over 35 faculty members and more than 1,200 students, and is rapidly expanding its range of educational and research activities. Its faculty has led major university-wide strategic research thrusts in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology, Translational Healthcare and Biomedical Technology and Food Science and Technology.

The School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (SCBE) invites applicants to apply for tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, or a related field by the beginning of the appointment period. Candidates with post-doctoral training would be preferred.

The School is particularly interested in candidates with research interest in the area of Translational Theranostics. We seek candidates who focus on translation of engineering platforms and cell-based therapies for human diseases, particularly in the background of ageing society and tropical urban environments. Areas of interest include but are not limited to cellular and systemic sensors; non-destructive, rapid and image analytics assisted diagnostic and surgical platforms; genomics and epigenomic tools for understanding and controlling properties of therapeutic cells; big data analytics, modeling, and informatics including deep learning approaches to analyze diagnostic data and understand cell behaviors for prognosis and the development of therapeutic strategies.

The candidate should have a demonstrated excellence in original research, with good publication records and the ability to teach core bioengineering courses. Entrepreneurial qualities are also sought after.

Exceptional candidates in other fields of biomedical engineering will also be considered.

Emoluments
The commencing salary will depend on the candidate's qualifications, experience and the level of appointment offered.
