- Coordinates with Engineering staff and Direct Report regarding priorities, deadlines, and special work assignments
- Coordinates individual assignments for laboratory technicians
- Reviews laboratory procedures and verifies accuracy and completeness of laboratory results
- Supervises technicians in testing operations and performs competency tests of technicians
- Performs field and laboratory testing as required
- Prepares billing sheets for laboratory tests performed
- Provides training and instructional guidance to field and laboratory technicians and verifies the technician’s competencies as per our Quality Manual
- Supervises technicians in testing operations and performs competency tests of technicians
- Checks time records of technicians daily for accuracy
- Informs manager of workload, overtime requirements and status of current and future projects
- Conducts performance reviews of assigned technicians
- Responsible for routine maintenance of field and laboratory inspection and testing equipment as well as the calibration and proper documentation of all applicable equipment
- Responsible for maintaining an adequate stock of routine supplies and materials
- Assigns general housekeeping duties including trash removal, sweeping floors, dusting, cleaning windows, and storage and disposal of test supplies
- Understand, adhere and participate in the Raba Kistner Health and Safety and BBWS Programs and set a good safety example
- Other duties as assigned by Direct Report
- ACI Field I, ACI Laboratory Strength Testing Certified, TxDOT 1A Certified, TxDOT SB101 and SB 102 Certified
- Capable of drafting technical reports and proposals
- Possess valid Texas driver’s license and meet company's auto insurability requirements
- Excellent math skills for analyzing test results
- Recording skills to report test data
- Communication skills for meeting with clients and handling incoming calls concerning test data
- Organizational skills to set priorities, schedule assignments, and meet deadlines
- Supervise technicians with varying degrees of experience and educational background
- Walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, climbing and repeated bending as needed while working on sites
- Distinguish colors and shades of color for identification and analysis
- Presents a professional appearance to best represent the firm
- Ability to comply with all attendance and tardy requirements as Corporate Policy Manual
WORKING CONDITIONS: - Works in a normal office environment and also works outside on construction sites and is subject to weather conditions
- Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards if proper safety procedures are not followed
- Exposed to noise, dust, fumes, grease and oils, radiant and electrical energy
- May work protracted or irregular hours
- Work related responsibilities require travel out of town to Raba Kistner offices, client offices, and project locations
