SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY CARBONDALE. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at SIU Carbondale invites applications for two full-time, continuing, tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor: one in the area of Water Resources Engineering (ENGR-244) and the other in the area of Environmental Engineering (ENGR-245). Applicants for both positions must have an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and an earned doctorate in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering field by the time of appointment at SIU Carbondale. ABD applicants will be considered if all requirements for the Ph.D. will be completed by August 15, 2020. If all degree requirements are not completed by that date, a term, non-tenure track appointment may be offered in accordance with University policy (http://policies.siu.edu/personnel_policies/chapter2/ch2-faps/conting.php). For position ENGR - 244, applicants must have a specialization in the area of Water Resources Engineering. For position ENGR - 245, applicants must have a specialization in the area of Environmental Engineering. Special consideration will be given to applicants with professional practice experience. In addition, professional engineer (PE) licensure is desirable and will be required for tenure. Applicants for both positions must have a demonstrated potential for high quality research and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering (for ENGR-244), and Environmental Engineering (for ENGR-245), with research documented by publications and/or funded projects.
