Taylor Engineering, Inc. is actively seeking a Structural Waterfront Engineer with 8-15 years of experience to work in any of our Florida locations (Jacksonville, Tampa, Sarasota, or Destin). This position will support our interdisciplinary teams: coastal, water resources, and environmental. Previous waterfront structure and marine infrastructure project experience should include marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads, and breakwater and shore protection structures. In addition to having a proven structural background, our ideal candidate would have project experience in dredging, navigation, and dredged material management planning, design, and construction administration.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide a leadership role for our waterfront engineering team to successfully manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Ensures compliance to all applicable regulations and requirements including the International Building Code, Florida Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318 Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete, AISC Manual of Steel Construction, and the National Design Specification for Wood Construction.
Familiarity with STAD PRO, AllPile, LPile, SupportIT, Ensoft Group modeling software
Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget
Acts as advisor to the team regarding projects, tasks, and operations
Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or other applicable engineering discipline; preferably with Master of Science in Civil or Coastal Engineering
Experience: 8-15 years in structural engineering with marine structures, dredged material design and planning, regulatory permitting in the State of Florida, and construction administration
Registration: Florida Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license
Organized with the ability to multi-task
Ability to carry out complex mathematical calculations
Possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and spot issues in complex technical, scientific, abstract information, designs, and diagrams
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Energetic, detail-oriented team player
Lifting up to (35) pounds unassisted
Sitting for extended periods of time
Possesses acceptable vision (with or without corrective lenses) to be able to see and navigate a computer screen
Ability to go out into the field and construction sites
