VMRD (Veterinary Medical Research and Development) researches, develops and manufactures veterinary diagnostic test kits and related reagents for distribution in nearly eighty countries.
The Quality Assurance Manager develops and oversees the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure continuous quality improvement in all services and products provided by VMRD. The position is responsible to manage the quality assurance functions of the company.
Administer the QMS to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 9001:17025, GLP, GMP, 9 CFR, 21 CFR, internal standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
Establish and oversee an internal audit program
Execute internal audits of laboratory procedures, method validations, equipment calibration, and as needed for regulatory compliance
Coordinate and host on site client and regulatory agency audits
Manage department-wide process harmonization projects
Develop, maintain, and improve company quality standards and best practices
Train, motivate, and coach employees to ensure that quality standards are met
Create/maintain written documentation of the responsibilities and procedures applicable to QA functions
Review and signoff of quality related customer facing documentation, such as final reports and COAs
Review, edit, and signoff of QTA contracts
Compile and analyze information to find areas for process improvement
Increase and update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
10+ years of experience with quality assurance, auditing, improvement efforts, and administering Quality Management Systems
Bachelor’s degree in the sciences and/or 5+ years of equivalent experience
ISO certified internal auditor or equivalent
American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification(s) or equivalent
Demonstrated knowledge of processes and principles regarding ISO 9001:2015, ISO 9001:17025, GLP, GMP, 9 CFR, 21 CFR regulations
Experience with QT9 QMS software
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and adaptability to other software
Proven ability to work cross-functionally and have the ability to bring together appropriate people and information to make timely, effective decisions.
Must be able to overcome obstacles and find reasonable resolutions to situations on a case by case basis as encountered.
