This position is full time staff position in the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering (BAE) as the Research Instrument Shop Manager on the Stillwater campus. This position can start as soon as January 25, 2019. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The candidate must have solid hands-on experience in a design, CAD or Solid Works software, manufacturing, or lab environment. Must be skilled in mechanical and electromechanical equipment operation, repair and maintenance plus general machine shop, wood shop and welding shop. Duties include directing the operations of the BAE Lab (BAEL) serving the instructional, design and fabrication needs for manufacturing of multiple departments at OSU. A solid understanding of engineering design, engineering technology and agricultural technology education, demonstrated by both formal education and practice, is needed, together with progressive thinking, adherence to OSHA and OSU safety rules and regulations, proactive action, experience with all types of machine and hand tools, computer skills, effective communication skills, lab teaching ability, engineering design, mentoring of BAE students, managerial ability, ability to learn independently new engineering and manufacturing technologies. Supervisory experience is desirable. A positive, cooperative, service-oriented attitude is essential. An opportunity exists for the successful applicant to pursue studies toward an advanced degree.

An earned B.S. degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechanized Ag, Agricultural Systems Technology (AST) or related field. A minimum of 5 years experience is required plus a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
