Alden is seeking engineers with a strong background and interest in hydraulic engineering for positions within the Hydraulic Modeling and Design Group in its Everett, Washington consulting office and laboratory. The Hydraulic Modeling and Design Group uses a combination of laboratory scale-model testing, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and numerical modeling to solve a wide range of civil engineering flow-related problems. Our primary customers are in the municipal water supply and treatment, power generation and manufacturing/process industries. Hydropower and flood protection related projects include upgrades and modifications of existing dams, spillways, and gates and design support for fish passage facilities. Water supply and treatment projects include evaluations of water supply pipelines, pump stations, and treatment facilities. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior staff on truly one-of-a kind projects.
A successful candidate will work on physical and/or numerical hydraulic modeling projects; analysis and design of hydraulic structures; conduct literature reviews; data presentation; and field studies. Work may also include preparing design and construction documents. The position will provide the opportunity to be involved with all phases of hydraulic engineering projects including: planning, design, construction, analysis, and presentation. Under the guidance of experts in the field, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop unique skills that few other companies provide. This position provides opportunity for growth and plenty of variety in the projects and methods used.
