Composites Consulting Group (CCG) is Diab’s engineering and consulting team providing a wide range of consulting services to provide solutions for our customers. These include testing of composite materials, laminate design and engineering, and analysis, along with process consulting, and process implementation.
Diab Americas is seeking a Composite Process Specialists to work as part of the Composites Consulting Group in the Americas. Typical projects include process consulting, testing and analysis at DIAB/CCG facilities and training and prototype construction at customer facilities. Process Specialists travel extensively, both domestic and internationally, to complete consulting assignments, attend meetings, and represent DIAB/CCG at industry events.
Position is located in Dallas. Relocation assistance or out of state residency may be considered for the ideal candidate.
Execute consulting assignments (e.g. process development, testing, consulting, material specification, training and implementation of composite manufacturing methods) at DIAB/CCG and client facilities
Composite panel and part fabrication - vacuum bag, autoclave, press molding, pre-pregs, infusion, RTM, thermoforming, thermoplastics
Research, collect, and report information on industry products, processes and trends
Prepare technical papers and present technical materials relating to DIAB/CCG projects and services at trade shows, seminars, and workshops.
Industry networking to promote DIAB/CCG and its service offerings
Required Skills / Experience:
Skilled in standard concepts, practices, and procedures for composite construction (i.e. hand lay-up, vacuum bag, vacuum infusion, RTM, etc.)
5+ years hands-on experience in composite fabrication and/or design
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs.
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
Must be capable of standing for extended periods of time
Up to 50% travel
3D CAD proficiency, preferably SolidWorks and/or Rhino
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), standard CAD software and ability to learn new software
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings for composite structures
Academic / Educational Training Requirements:
5+ years hands-on experience in composite fabrication and/or design or bachelor’s degree + work experience
Certified Composite Technician (or ability to achieve certification within one year)
