We are currently searching for an experienced engineer to serve as a Water Resources Program Manager for water resources study and design projects in our Cypress, Texas office.
Progressive and documented experience leading moderate to complex drainage design projects for a diverse client base.
Documented experience with the Texas Department of Transportation, Harris County Flood Control and/or other municipal or county drainage entities
Leading the design and preparation of construction documents for complex stormwater and heavy civil engineering construction projects including earthen channels, concrete channels, detention/retention ponds, retaining walls, energy dissipation structures, drainage pump stations, and roadway drainage design.
Design oversight of various experience level staff, including external subconsultant support teams handling disciplines such as surveying, geotechnical engineering, etc.
Experience with client coordination, analysis, report preparation, public meetings, and development of standard and non-standard construction documents.
Strong technical writing and presentation skills and a working knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
Experience with water quality, fluvial geomorphology, and large basin hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and mapping is a plus.
Knowledgeable in erosion and sediment control criteria, stormwater management regulations, and permitting processes required.
Will be actively involved in projects greater than 50% of their time.
Experience in managing all ranges of project size, preparing and maintaining project schedules, tracking project financials, preparing status reports and invoicing.
Technical ability to prepare feasibility studies.
Familiarity with TCEQ dam safety requirements is a plus.
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
Ability to teach, coach and mentor less experienced engineers required.
Ability to work independently as well as oversee the work of teams of professionals and technicians.
Master’s Degree in Water Resources is required.
TX PE License (or the ability to become licensed within the first six months)
10+ years of progressive work experience in the design of stormwater infrastructure.
