Overview / Responsibilities Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a registered Professional Engineer with site civil and project management experience to join and help grow an established Civil Engineering practice. Water resources experience is also desirable. The ideal candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, organized, and experienced managing projects. Engineering design and production skills including developing drawings, specifications, design reports, and bid documents is required.
Key Responsibilities Develop conceptual and final design documents including reports, calculations, and drawing sets Prepare permit applications and interface with regulatory agencies Prepare and QA/QC construction documents, technical specifications and cost estimates Interact with clients Write proposals and reports Work collaboratively in a team environment to facilitate successful project execution Oversee technicians where necessary Some travel/field work may be required (typically local)
Skills / Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required, Master’s Degree preferred North Carolina Professional Engineering certification preferred, or ability to obtain it within 6 months 8-15 years of experience Strong written and verbal communication skills required Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and oversight Team player, with abilities to multi-task and complete various assignments at once Competency in the areas of technical knowledge, office/field supervision, and project management Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills Ability to manage staff and projects Experience preparing construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D Experience with GIS, HEC-RAS, HELP and HydroCAD
Additional Desired Qualifications Industrial and/or municipal government stormwater design experience is a plus Knowledge of and experience with North Carolina solid waste regulations Experience with Coal Combustion Residual surface impoundments and landfills is a plus
