Our team is actively seeking an experienced, highly versatile Construction Manager (CM) for immediate employment in Los Angeles, CA, to support public construction projects throughout the city. The ideal candidate is a Professional Engineer licensed in California with a background in civil design. The CM is the principle interface between the Contractor, Lead Inspector, and the rest of the CM Team.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Planning, directing, and coordinating day-to-day construction management activities.
Reviewing submittals; processing, reviewing, and negotiating change orders; answering and handling RFIs; processing shop drawings and plan clarifications; reviewing as-built drawings.
Conducting dispute resolution, meeting coordination, construction tracking and documentation, final project close-out, etc.
Coordinating resolution of design issues with the Project Engineer or Technical Support Staff, as required.
Assuring that proper engineering staff is present to witness any performance testing that may occur at the fabrication shop or in the field.
Perform constructability reviews as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
Minimum two (2) years of experience as Construction Manager; minimum eight (8) years construction experience.
Experience in and knowledge of concrete construction and public construction.
Civil design experience a major plus.
ADA construction compliance experience preferred.
Proficient computer skills; ability to utilize smart phone / tablet and associated apps and software as required.
