JOB SUMMARY: Provide, implement and administer quality assurance and control engineering functions to ensure product reliability, conformance to engineering specifications, etc., at minimum costs.
Conferring with top management officers to plan strategic development and quality service methodologies to achieve corporate goals
Developing operational policies and procedures related to quality control programs, inspection methods, devices and control techniques
Through delegation of authority and responsibility to subordinate Supervisors, Engineers and Technicians, maintain satisfaction as to quality through internal and external inspection services relative to raw materials, finished items purchased, production operations and processes
Direct and oversee quality studies to determine cause, effect and the corrective measures required to remedy customer/Toyo quality deviations that may occur
Maintaining a working relationship with Engineering and Manufacturing personnel to resolve problems relative to product designs, specifications, materials, tooling and production operations affecting quality
Supervising investigative procedures having to do with customer complaints
Authorizing the hiring and job requirements for new personnel and directing career and training programs to keep department personnel informed on procedures, methods, and use of equipment
Administer work rules, regulations and when necessary, needed disciplinary actions
Maintaining contact with professional societies and through review of technical papers abreast of new developments in quality control
Design, establish and ensure quality control point system within the processing/manufacturing department that ensures the quality integrity of the finished product
Personally, engage and assist in activity that is related to the total direction of the entire company, this may or may not be directly related to quality issues
All other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
Qualifications and Skills
Requires a degree in Engineering or other technical related field including special courses in Industrial Management and other applied engineering services (Equivalent experience may be considered)
Requires thorough knowledge of all aspects of quality and automotive industry along with Quality Management System requirements
Requires eight to ten years progressive training and experience in quality assurance and control techniques, product reliability and test laboratory procedures plus supervisory and managerial responsibilities.
Fluent Japanese a plus
