Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles in the Los Angeles International Airport area is searching for an experienced Quality Manager. With a 50+ year foundation, The Marvin Group supports all branches of the Department of Defense and allies around the globe on an array of programs and platforms. We support many military prime contractors including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon.
Ensure consistent quality of production by enforcing the quality management system (QMS), fulfilling the role of quality expert. Assure the quality of the parts produced meet all of the customers' requirements and exceeds expectations; quickly and effectively take action when non-conformances are found.
Maintain the most recent interpretation of the QMS requirements and therefore ensure that documented practices meet the true interpretation of the QMS. Participate in development and implementation of new and existing QMS process. Assist IPT team members in cross functional teams as required. Participate in problem solving activities, continuous improvement activities, product and process analysis with the ability to recognize and recommend new and emerging technologies and methods.
Supervise and coordinate activities of quality engineering personnel.
Validate that the implementation of quality assurance measures meet all specifications required by the company and customer.
Resolve customer complaints and concerns.
Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques.
Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources.
Effectively communicate and reinforce commitment to quality improvement efforts.
Recommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectiveness.
Provide training opportunities to ensure department personnel can obtain skills and knowledge necessary to successfully perform duties and responsibilities of job.
Collaborate with customers, contracts, sales, purchasing, engineering, production, and quality personnel to determine part compliance.
Disposition non-conforming material.
Perform other related work as required.
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS
Local candidates only
Process Owner for Quality Engineering Planning Approval Review.
ASQ certification or minimum of 10 years aerospace quality assurance experience.
Familiarity and comprehension of specifications and standards.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specification requirements, with a general understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
Previous work experience in an organization that supplied OEM.
Customer quality assurance experience.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
RCCA and SAP experience are pluses.
Excellent communications skills – both verbal and technical writing.
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
