Water Resources Engineer, Upper Marlborough, Maryland

AKRF’s Water Resources Practice is seeking a full-time Water Resources Engineer with 5+ years of experience to provide in-house client support for a stormwater public-private partnership program based in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The ideal candidate will have experience with the design, construction, and maintenance of stormwater BMP projects in urban and suburban settings and a sound working knowledge of local design requirements and regulatory processes.
Bachelor´s degree in water resources, civil or environmental engineering.
Minimum 5 years’ experience designing stormwater management and/or environmental restoration projects in the State of Maryland, with an emphasis on environmental site design (ESD), low impact development (LID), and stream restoration design projects.
Knowledge and understanding of NPDES/MS4 permit and Chesapeake Bay TMDL.
Experience managing public construction projects.
Experience providing regulatory compliance and permit support to County and/or State agencies.
Ability to successfully manage and deliver on multiple tasks with competing priorities.
Excellent written communication skills.
Superior attention to detail.
Ability to establish Prince George’s County residency within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Maryland Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration.
Program management experience (asset management, cost estimating and modeling, development of standards and protocols, and development of training programs).
Knowledge of best practices for the inspection and evaluation of stormwater BMPs.
Experience with the implementation and operation of relational databases.
