The Department of Civil Engineering at National Chung-Hsing University invites applications for a possible tenure-track faculty position in structural engineering at the level of assistant professor. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop strong research programs, supervise graduate students, and be involved in service to the university and the profession.
The applicant must have an earned Ph.D. degree in structural engineering or materials.
Application must be received in hard copy by December 29, 2017.

supplemental information (e.g. project, research plan, special honor …etc.),

The Department of Civil Engineering of National Chung Hsing University maintains its educational and research programs that emphasize the new technologies of civil engineering discipline. The department has a long and respected tradition since 1961 when the undergraduate programs were established. Meanwhile, the graduate programs, doctorial programs and professional development programs of the dep...artment were established in 1984, 1992 and 1999, respectively. The following accredited degrees are offered to the qualified students to meet the continuing challenges of advanced study or professional practice in civil engineering: Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering, and Doctor of Philosophy. Graduate students may major in one of the fields including Structural Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, and Surveying and Information Engineering. Currently, the department has a total of 34 full-time faculties and has more than 400 undergraduates and 300 graduates enrolled simultaneously. Graduates from all programs in the department have developed as the successful practicing professionals, educators, and industrial leaders. In order to enhance our competitivity, new elements, such as hazard prevention, green construction, sustainability, etc. were included not only in our courses but also research projects.
