Join ODOT's Facilities team in Salem as a senior transportation facilities engineer that provides advanced structural engineering expertise for the planning, construction, and maintenance of ODOT's transportation facilities (office buildings, maintenance buildings, storage buildings, sand sheds, site improvements, underground utilities) and acts as the sole agency engineering expert for the management of ODOT - $'s facilities.

This position is with the Central Services Division, Facilities Services Branch in Salem. The Facilities Services Branch provides building related services for the construction, maintenance, leasing, and management of space for over 1,000 department structures and 74 leases.

This is a limited duration appointment that is expected to last 18 to 24 months. Limited duration appointments are regular status, benefits eligible, with a designated maximum length of service.
The goal of this recruitment is to fill this position at a Professional Engineer 1 level. However, we encourage candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for an Associate in Engineering 2 ($50292 - $74328/yearly) to apply, as we may consider under-filling the position until the selected candidate meets the minimum qualifications for a Professional Engineer 1. Under-fill training will not exceed one year.
This position is represented by the Association of Engineering Employees of Oregon (AEE).
Minimum Qualifications – Professional Engineer 1 You will need:
A valid Professional Engineer's (PE) license in Civil, Structural, or Transportation-related engineering.

Minimum Qualifications – Associate in Engineering 2 (Under-fill Option) You will need:
Completion of and passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and one year of experience applying professional engineering theory, principles and methods.
AE2 Under-fill Special Qualifications
To be eligible for the AE2 under-fill option, a candidate must have his/her valid professional engineer's license in hand (the ability to stamp) within one year of hire. As the PE exam is offered twice a year, in most cases, this will mean applicants must have already met all PE licensing requirements (e.g. completed required education and training, passed the FE and PE exams, etc.) and submitted their complete PE license application to the PE licensing body.
You must have and maintain a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record or be able to provide an acceptable alternate method of transportation.

A professional engineer license in structural engineering is desired.
