Lead and/or Technical Staff for Specialty Engineering with detailed and expert level knowledge in one or more specialty engineering disciplines. Understands framework, methodology throughout acquisition lifecycle for each specified specialty engineering discipline. Develops specialty engineering framework, methodology to plan, manage, and implement technical activities throughout acquisition lifecycle. Expert knowledge and appropriate certifications to perform in one or more of following disciplines:
Has subject matter expertise to develop a framework and methodology to plan, manage, and implement technical activities for specialty engineering disciplines.
Assists EN to define the common analyses governing, and data requirements for, reliability, maintainability, availability performance evaluation and measurement throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
Addresses program strategy issues/risks associated with radiological/nuclear survivability.
Supports EN in assessing SMC program contractors’ space systems survivability program activities IAW SMC-S-014. Documents/reports discrepancies found.
Assists EN and program office in establishing/implementing mass properties control.
Assists EN and program office with implementation of human factors/integration in program baseline and follow-on efforts to ensure compliance with baselined human factors/integration requirements.
Assists EN and program office to ensure manufacturing planning/operations are timely, adequate, and consistently adhere to SMC standards.
Assesses control, reduction of EMI for Space and Ground control systems to be able to operate in intended electromagnetic environment within defined margin of safety, at design levels of performance, without suffering or causing unacceptable degradation as a result of EMI.
Supports EMI/EMC requirements development activities.
Assists EN and program office to incorporate manufacturing, producibility factors into all aspects of acquisition lifecycle, incl. manufacturing feasibility, industrial base assessment and sustainment, and shortfalls/problems at all points in the supply chain.
Assists EN manage industrial base risks for SMC systems’ technologies.
Assists EN and program office to develop/implement integrated parts, materials, and processes plan IAW SMC-S-009, SMC-S-010, SMC-S-011. 12)
Assists EN to develop/maintain counterfeit parts avoidance program.
Assists EN to assess/maintain radiation-hardened electronics requirements.
Supports EN/program office in performance, review of technology readiness assessments.
