Primary Location: United States (US) - Illinois (US-IL) - East Moline Function: Manufacturing Engineering Title: Facility Engineer - Structural/Civil - 25288
As a Facilities Engineer, you will provide project management services and Civil/ Structural engineering as related to implementing changes at any of the manufacturing facilities in the US. In addition, you will:
Lead and/or support execution of multi-discipline engineering projects, concept through implementation, using standard project management and design processes using strategic internal and external resources. Projects must integrate with existing systems without interruption of manufacturing schedules.
Provide troubleshooting and response to facility infrastructure, production equipment and critical production down situations and maintenance operations.
Maintain project budget cost control and report relevant budget and revenue information. Develop term capital and expense planning budgets. Prepare and manage purchase orders for projects and follow all Accounting requirements.
Support a wide variety of building and operations systems including non-mobile material handling and manufacturing process equipment in alignment with factory master planning or FM Global requirements.
Provide life, safety and building code analysis support and implement programs within the organization that meet the constraints of schedule, budget, and project scope, and prevent injuries and illnesses. Assist in the identification and resolution with unit leadership and manufacturing engineering.

What Skills You Need
Background in building structural infrastructure systems (3+ years), facilities design and familiarity with civil/site engineering principles, including ability to communicate and coordinate project activities.
Knowledge of product, process, and industrial facilities design.
Skill in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools.
Experience with non-mobile material handling systems (cranes, jibs, monorails, conveyors).
Knowledge of OSHA Safety standards and environmental laws and regulations.
Experience in procuring, contracting and coordinating multiple skilled trades, contractors, and outside consultants to achieve project objectives.
Ability and willingness to provide occasional off-shift support including weekends and holidays as required by project work.
What Makes You Stand Out
Cross competency experience with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Supervision, Maintenance Engineering and the JDQPS environment.
Registration as a licensed professional architectural, engineer or equivalent.
Advanced education such as MS or MBA.
Demonstrated working knowledge of project delivery methods, controls, and construction contracts.
Experience with building Information Modeling and Integrated Project Delivery Methods.
Knowledge of the Product Delivery Process (PDP) similar to the one followed at John Deere.
Experience working within Environmental program regulations.
Working knowledge of Factory Mutual Global protection standards.
Education (or equivalent work experience)
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
