Elizabethtown College is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Engineering in the Department of Engineering and Physics to being August 2018.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate engineering and physics courses, student advising and mentoring, and departmental and institutional service. The teaching load is twelve contact hours per week including laboratories and project supervision. Ongoing professional development and scholarly activity are also expected; particularly work that includes collaboration with undergraduate research students. The department has an ABET (www.abet.org) accredited program in Engineering with six concentrations available, including a new Civil Concentration. Candidates will teach courses in support of all engineering students including a multi-disciplinary Introduction to Engineering course.
A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering is required. Expertise in structural engineering and teaching experience preferred.
