The mission of the Gwinnett County Department of Transportation is to enhance quality of life by facilitating the mobility of people and goods safely and efficiently, which is accomplished by planning, constructing, operating, and maintaining the aviation, transit, and surface transportation systems. The Department of Transportation consists of three sections: Contracted Operations; Program Delivery; and Traffic Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance.
The Department is actively recruiting for two positions: a Deputy Director to oversee the Program Delivery section and a Deputy Director to oversee the Traffic Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance section. These are both upper management positions that have the authority to serve as the Department Director and Assistant Director in their absence.
Training and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a closely related field, such as Public Administration, Business Management, Civil Engineering (Transportation) or Construction Management. A master's degree is preferred.
Nine years of progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment, including two years at the Division Director level;
or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above;
