POSITION SUMMARY / EXPERIENCE
The Project Manager will report to the President and COO and provide active support in initiating, planning, execution and closing of projects. Sr. Project Manager accountability will include safety and quality compliance, financial controls, earned value oversight, change order/claim preparation, scheduling, risk management, sub-contractor control and contractual compliance. Cost accruals as they are incurred is highly important. This position involves a high level of responsibility requiring excellent interpersonal and management skills. The ability to effectively communicate to all levels of Construction Management including public agencies. The Project Manager must have the experience and ability to mentor project management professionals and members of project teams in project management deliverables.
Provide PM subject matter expertise to support and successfully deliver a portfolio of Pipeline projects.
Create monthly progress payments
Management of field supers and project engineers
Participate as a leader in Bid Review and Project Status Review Meetings
Negotiation between vendors and subcontractors
Create subcontractor agreements
Create monthly P + L statements
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERENCE
Superior oral and written communication and interpersonal abilities essential for dealing with management, project teams, customers and other stakeholders
Must have at least 10 years’ experience in working with city and state agencies (NYS DOT, NYC MTA, NYC DDC, NYC DOT, & PANYNJ)
Must have at least 10 years’ experience in Heavy Construction
Creative problem solving abilities.
Mentoring skills with the ability to train others.
Capability to negotiate with Public Agencies, Private Utilities, and Vendors
Significant business acumen and understanding and use of financial tools.
